D89. On reappearing

8 November 2022. 1 minute read.

It’s been a long pause ever since my last post. I have committed, backtracked and recommitted to showing up here. Here I am, trying to sneak in like the sunlight that streams from the little gaps in a closed window. Even though the window blinds to block out the light, the tiny rays of sunshine find their way into the room.

I know that sometimes words, language, thoughts and opinions are overshadowed by other priorities in life. But there will be days when it will find that keyhole or crack to break out and find a voice. Like the pink turtles who almost stop breathing for months in winter and slowly spring back to life, I am here attempting to find my voice again. I will take time to reappear and reintegrate into the world of words. I will not be here daily, but I will try to make it more meaningful whenever I show up.

What are some places in your life where reappearance is a central theme? For me, writing is the space where I often come in and disappear. For me, the desire of the faint voice wanting to sing aloud has to be strong. Those are the moments when I feel like writing. Today, I have been contemplating the joys of disappearing and reappearing. Like the sunlight, the words/voices lie buried deep within. It needs that little loving nudge as it starts reappearing when the time is right.

Maybe the time feels right to emerge from the shadows again…:)
